Good Bye, Ronaldo, Good Bye...

Real Madrid president Florentino believes that Cristiano Ronaldo will retire at the club and said that contract talks with the forward will take place next month.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a return to former club Manchester United this summer and also been touted as a potential transfer target for big-spending outfits Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco.
But Perez has reassured Real fans that talks with the Portugal international about extending his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu beyond 2015, when his current contract ends, will start in July and thinks the striker will end his career with the Spanish giants.

He said: "There are no open negotiations at the moment, that will be from July. My opinion is that Cristiano will retire at Real Madrid, that is his dream, and the club’s too. Some people think that negotiations are done in the newspapers."

In September, Ronaldo declared that he was feeling sad but he now appears to overcome his unhappiness and Perez insists that he will only allow the player to leave if his €1 billion release clause is met.
He added: "The truth is I do not know [why he was sad]. I told him not to worry, that I would do everything possible so that he was happy. He played a magnificent season. Cristiano never asked me to leave. If anyone does want to leave it is very easy - the clause must be paid.”
